Why Choose a Certified Resume Writer?

A Google search for resume writers in your area will no doubt yield dozens of results – but how do you know who is most qualified to write your resume?

Writers who have pursued a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) designation demonstrate their skill in meeting client’s career goals.  This designation is offered by the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches (PARW/CC), a US based organization that started in 1990.  According to the PARW/CC website “CPRWs have demonstrated their knowledge, talent and writing expertise in meeting the industry standard of excellence and in serving the client’s career interests.”

Knowing whether or not a resume writer is certified provides clients with the ability to carefully select the industry’s best – proven by the fact they secured their designation.  Your resume writer should belong to professional career organizations, and their memberships should be current.  In belonging to professional career organization or group, writers have access to education and information on current resume tips and trends.

Ultimately, you should select a resume writer that is the best fit for you.  Check out their samples and review their policies.  But beware – many writers who claim to be experienced professionals are not certified.  If they really are highly qualified, shouldn’t they have a certification to prove it?  Choosing a certified professional could be the difference between receiving a good resume, or a great resume.  Which would you rather pay for?
